Excellent staff and dentist. I had bad toothache over a holiday weekend and Dr. Achatz reached out to me and got me into an endodontist that same day. I highly recommend this dentist.

I'm 83, with a mouth full of bridges and caps (crowns) . So I've had many dentists. Of all kinds. Because of fairly recent shoddy, unnecessary and unethical dental work I do not like to go to dentists. More than most. as I was duped by a "corporate dentist" telling me I had a loose crown. He said I needed a root canal, which turned into a tooth removal, two bridges (first didn't work), a visit to a prostodonist, a peridontist and an oral surgeon. Tousands of dollars my insurance would not pay. We move to Sun City West about 2 years ago. Went to a dentist near Sam's Club. Was told I had very bad decay in a back tooth and the price was $850, if that was all I needed after further exam.. I left and did not revisit a dentist out of fear of another made up and unnecessary prognosis. Recently I was experiencing infection-like pain in my gums. So I did research and found a 5 star dentist on the internet. 1st visit at Sun City West Dental.. I am super impressed. I'm not sure if Dentists have bed side manners ratings, but if they do, Dr. Chad Achatz would be a 5 star plus.. He did comprehensive x-rays and pictures of my teeth ( insurance covered) Then he took time to explain what was going on in my mouth. Seems I need a deep cleaning as I have not had my teeth cleaned in almost 3 years (out of fear of what the dentist might "find"). Dr. Achatz after recommending a deep cleaning immediately told me insurance doesn't cover it and it was going to cost $48. After many thousands of dollars in my mouth, $48 was a welcome amount. Guess what? No severe cavities needing expensive work, as I was told by the other dentist. No "emergency work" needed at all. Yeah, at 83, my teeth, crowns and bridges are old. But, Dr. Achatz felt my mouth was in pretty good shape. OK, I know this only one visit. But I'm beyond impressed with the knowledge and concern Dr.Achatz presents. And, it appears he only does work that's necessary. And he will discuss the options avaliable to you before he proceeds. Refreshing as most dentists just TELL you what you need Yeah, I like this guy and his friendly staff. I hate to recommend him as it might make my appointments harder to get But, I have no choice. He appears THAT GOOD. So I highly recommend Dr. Achatz. And look forward to him being my dentist.

New to the area and the prior owners of our home went there so we decided to try them on a whim. Excellent dental office! Everyone is friendly and Dr. Barber was amazing. A dentist I can grow old with!

I recently switched to Sun City West Dental.I was very very impressed!!!!!! The whole staff was very friendly, welcoming and courteous. Dr.Achatz was very courteous, professional, attentive and spent a good amount of time explaining my X-rays and plan of treatment. His explanations were simple for anybody to understand. I am a retired ER nurse so I have less of a dental knowledge gap than the general population. Shawna, the dental hygienist, also very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. Like many people, going to the dentist is always an anxiety producing activity that no one enjoys. Pardon the pun but “it’s like pulling teeth “. Well, I was pleasantly surprised how calming and easy my visit was. I highly recommend Sun City West Dental and look forward to future visits. Thank you again, Debbie

Everything was done professionally, comfortably, and with great attention to detail. My wife had dentures made, and the entire process was handled with patience, care, and expertise. Her dentures fit beautifully and have made a big difference in her confidence and comfort. From the front desk to the dental team, everyone made us feel welcome and respected. The customer service here is truly outstanding.
