San Marcos Gentle Dental

I’m rating 3 stars because I have been going here for a few years now and usually my experience had been good. But my biggest complaint that has gotten worse is scheduling. In 2024 I had an emergency tooth issue that I would have waited a week to be seen for because there was nothing open and had to be seen by another dental office to avoid further infection. Scheduling has always been hard because if your not pre scheduled months in advance, there are rarely openings. And then as of recently I had my appointment made and set in place, I had the time off work approved for the appointment and I’m being called by gentle dental that there was a scheduling issue and I either needed to come in earlier or reschedule to a different date. I had a doctor appointment for the same morning and had scheduled these two appointments hours apart for a reason. I was barely able to manage an earlier appointment with gentle that would hopefully allow me time to finish at my doctors and head straight to my dentist. Monday I received the automated text to confirm my gentle dental appointment by responding C. I did. Confirmation text sent saying thank you for confirming. But yesterday I received a direct text from a rep (during my work hours when I do not regularly check my phone because it’s not allowed) that they had not received confirmation and if I didn’t confirm by 1pm my appointment would be canceled. I saw this at 3pm. So when I called they stated the spot had been filled. It didn’t matter that I had received and responded to a confirmation text previously, all she could offer was a rescheduled date. After this appointment already being made was a hassle. I think it might be time to find a new dental office. One that has a little more care, concern and respect for patient’s time. I bend over backwards with their scheduling to continue going and yet when I needed them in an emergency I was going to be made to wait, risking a bigger health concern had I waited.

I've been going here for several years...Very impressed!!! Andrew has worked on my teeth the last few times...A couple of crowns. It was a smooth undertaking. He is a very nice guy who does not push what is not needed. I highly recommend Andrew and Gentle Dental. :)

Very intrusive questioning and "small talk" I didn't care for not to be rude but I'm going to the dentist for my dental health and since this office is very unaccommodating to my needs it be great if we could stop acting like "friends" my last cleaning felt like they did nothing and robbed me to be honest I don't know if I'll give this place another chance or not at this point.

I recently had a dental visit that exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I arrived, the front desk team was friendly, efficient, and professional, making check-in seamless and stress-free. The providers were equally outstanding highly skilled, attentive, and thorough in their care. What really stood out was that no one tried to upsell or push any unnecessary services; they stayed focused solely on what I actually needed. They were also incredibly flexible with scheduling, working everything around my availability to make it as convenient as possible. I left feeling well cared for and confident in the team. Highly recommend!

Visiting the dentist is not my favorite thing, but Dr. Donnelly and the San Marcos Gentle Dental group team make it a seamless experience. Dr Donnelly is the best dentist!! He soothes my anxiety. He has always taken the time to explain each procedure. His entire staff is outstanding, including my awesome hygienist, Allison. I am more grateful than I can say to be under the care of such a highly skilled dentist with years of experience who shows such compassion.

Their savings plan has helped me for over five years now maintain my teeth and not need any dental work. Highly recommend, I drive from Austin to come here

Just beware they show up on United Health Care HMO in network. Yet I was told that they do not accept this insurance. Very misleading they need to update info with the insurance company since they are saying that they are not in network. Very disappointing the call back person Margaret was very cold not friendly at all. Defiantly would never recommend this office.

Every member of the staff was friendly and welcoming right from the start. Although my appointment was delayed slightly they were prompt to inform me and straightforward with providing an accurately estimated wait time. The exam/X-rays were quick and easy, all of my concerns were addressed and I did not feel pressured for any “additional treatment” options. Highly recommend; Will use again 👍

I went here recently to have my teeth cleaned. Wendy was very polite and professional, and made the process easy and stress free. Dr. Genteal (I apologize if misspelled) was great as well. I also especially loved and appreciated the beautiful mural outside of the window. Best density that I’ve been to.
