My crown came out right before a scheduled vacation, so I needed a dentist quickly. I’d never been to this dental group, but it was convenient, had great reviews, and I was able to book online in about three minutes. As a new patient, I was impressed by how friendly and welcoming everyone was. I completed a few forms on an iPad and was taken back within 10 minutes. The tech explained everything, took X-rays, and offered me water while I waited for the dentist and co-owner, Dr. King. Dr. King was professional, knowledgeable, and immediately put me at ease. He explained that the tooth looked healthy, cleaned the old cement from the crown, and then carefully adjusted the fit and bite until it felt perfect. There was no upselling whatsoever—so refreshing. At checkout, I asked what I owed since I didn’t have insurance. To my surprise, they refused payment, explaining that this was their way of “giving back” to the community. I’m a business professional and fully capable of paying for the care I received, which made their gesture all the more unexpected. Given the time, X-rays, and exceptional care involved, I was genuinely shocked and incredibly appreciative. I also asked about pricing because I’m considering becoming a regular patient. The front desk was refreshingly transparent. Their prices aren’t the cheapest, but they’re very reasonable for the quality of care, including major dental work. They also offer a preventative-care package for just over $300 covering cleanings, X-rays, annual exams, and preventative care, plus 15% off additional work. What could have been a stressful situation turned into one of the best dental experiences I’ve had. From the staff and care to their unexpected generosity, this practice is a class act. I wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend them.

During my last cleaning, an old crown became loose, and Dr. Truong fit me right in to re-cement it in place. Maria was excellent assisting with thr crown. I would give 10 stars if I could! I had an amazing experience at Penrod Dental! The office is much larger than I expected, and everything was incredibly clean, modern, and well-maintained. I don’t have dental insurance and was fully expecting to pay out of pocket for an exam, so I was genuinely surprised when they provided me with a complimentary exam. That alone made a great first impression. What I appreciated most was that they were completely honest and never tried to upsell me. Instead of recommending unnecessary treatments, the dentist clearly explained what the priority dental work was and focused only on what truly needed to be done. It was refreshing to feel like they genuinely cared about my dental health rather than making a sale. From the front office staff to the dentist, everyone was professional, knowledgeable, and welcoming. It was obvious that they know what they’re doing and take pride in providing excellent patient care. I highly recommend Penrod Dental to anyone looking for a trustworthy dentist. I’ll definitely be recommending them to all of my friends and family who live in the Rancho Santa Margarita area!

Hi! New patient here! I recently went in for a tooth exam on 6/30 and it was discovered that I actually needed my wisdom tooth extracted! Dr. Yau was my dentist that day and I can’t begin to express not only how awesome she was? But the entire office. Everyone there was very pleasant and welcoming. Everything was throughly explained and I didn’t feel any pressure whatsoever. I’m very grateful to Dr. Yau and the entire Penrod Team! You’ve got yourselves a new addition! I highly recommend!

I've been going to Penrod Dental my entire life, even though I no longer live nearby (would go every time I visit family) because I was never able to find a practice I liked as much. I always felt they never quoted you for unnecessary work (for years I had some minor cavities monitored + treated with fluoride toothpaste) which can be a problem with some dentists and the prices with my insurance were always reasonable. I recently had 6 fillings replaced by Dr Kong, and I liked his tech forward approach to treatment like the cameras so that I could see my cavities and fillings breaking down on the surface (in the past I've only been shown x-rays and I have no clue what any of those meant) and especially the VR glasses to replace the TV that wasn't working. Since I watch subtitled foreign language shows, it was nice to be able to watch without looking at the bright overhead light and having my hygienist/dentists face covering up the screen. Glad to see the improvements they're making to make it more patient friendly :)

I cannot say enough good things about Penrod Dental. I have been there about six times now, and I was so impressed that I moved my whole family over to their office. After dealing with other dentists who made us feel like we were being told we needed work we did not really need, or being charged more than we should have been, finding Penrod Dental has been such a relief. They are honest, thorough, and easy to trust. I am also not someone who does well at the dentist. I have very sensitive teeth, and dental visits have always been stressful for me. But every experience I have had at Penrod Dental has been surprisingly comfortable and positive. They have completely changed the way I feel about going to the dentist. I am so grateful we found them and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dentist they can truly trust.

One of the best, if not the best, dental offices I have ever been with. The entire team is highly ethical and never pushes unnecessary procedures. They have even provided additional cleanings free of charge when needed and not covered by insurance. The dentist personally comes in to examine patients during every cleaning visit, the hygienists are gentle yet extremely thorough, and the staff is consistently professional, friendly, and welcoming. Their commitment to patient care and integrity truly sets them apart. It’s no surprise they are so successful. I would whole heartedly recommend Penrod to anyone who seek great dental care.
